05/27/2008 - Constantly more internet users in the Czech Republic – the online market is gaining in importance

ARBOmedia AG analyses Czech internet activities and focuses on online market advertising
Munich, 27th May 2008. As ARBOmedia AG determined in a current market study, the internet is continually growing in the Czech Republic compared to other sectors of the media market.
Tomáš Jankůj, Managing Director of ARBOinteractive, GmbH Czech Republic, stated: "The importance of internet in the media mix grows. The share of TV advertising costs is stable in longterm, radio and print decreases since 2005 on contrary to the online that represent incereasing share in media mix".
According to Tomáš Jankůj, stable growth of internet users, around 15% each year, is one of the reasons. The penetration is nearly 50%. On top of that there is an increase in time spent online for more than 5 hours each month compared to previous year. Internet becomes a mass-media and advertisers are more aware of all the advantages this medium brings”
The core data from the ARBOmedia analyses: • The number of online users has increased by 35% between 2004 and 2007. • Easier situation is for the largest portals where most of advertising expenditures are invested (70-80%). • The net online investments (ARBOinteractive estimation) has increased from 4.39 million Euro in 2000 to 52.52 million Euro in 2008 (Currency rate: 1 EUR = 25,040 CZK).
ARBOinteractive continues in being active on the online market focusing on expansion of its portfolio. Tomáš Jankůj stated: "Main target is to expand our content based network (SUN) and go ahead with the brand new network (AIR) that is focus on acquisition of user generated content websites and social platforms".
