07/07/2008 - On the advance: The online market in Rumania gains in significance

An ARBOmedia AG analysis proves: more and more Rumanians are going on-line

Munich, 7th July 2008. In an internal study, ARBOmedia AG carried out an analysis about the size and growth of the online market in Rumania. In doing so Europe’s largest independent advertising promotion company recorded an extremely rapid increase in internet activities in the Eastern European country.

The most significant results at a glance:
• 52.3% of Rumanians living in the cities already used the internet regularly during last year (source: SNA Focus Romania – Jan 2007 – Jan 2008)
• In Rumanian the highest percent of online users living in the urban area is between 14 – 39 years old, representing 75,5%
• 95.5% of all Rumanian companies work with a computer and 90% of all companies use the internet for their business activities.

Calin Rotarus from ARBOinteractive S.R.L. Romania stated: "The results of the analysis substantiate us in our opinion that we are already on the right path with our focal point strongly set on the Rumanian online market".
In 2008 the expenditures for the online market in Rumania are estimated to increase with 50%, meaning 15 -16 million Euro.

It is expected that in Rumania the trend towards having an own computer with access to the internet will continue further. Therefore in future the internet will increasingly advance as the paramount source of information and purchases will proliferate via the internet.

Calin Rotarus from ARBOinteractive S.R.L. Romania added: "Our concentration on online advertisement promotion of this young aspiring market has enabled our business partners to approach new customers as well as existing customers about this increasingly used medium".
