05/11/2004 - New Media Sales Agreements for ARBOmedia

Last month, the pan-European advertising sales house ARBOmedia was able to conclude two marketing contracts for the advertising sales of the daily newspaper METRO for the region of Andalusia as well as the in-flight magazine of the Turkish airline FLY AIR.

The internationally distributed daily METRO which is available free of charge is part of the portfolio of ARBOmedia Di-Versus, the Spanish subsidiary of ARBOmedia AG, since April 2004. The contract comprises the South Spanish region Andalusia (except for Sevilla) and was concluded for one year, with the option to prolong it on a yearly basis. This is the first time that METRO assigned its advertising space to an external service provider.

The newspaper Group listed on the Stockholm stock exchange publishes 36 dailies in more than 100 cities in 16 countries. METRO is a global concept adapted to the local characteristics of each country. With 4.5 million issues per day and 12.5 million readers, METRO is the most important global daily (outside Japan) and reaches 2.7 readers per newspaper. It is distributed in the morning in high-traffic commuter zones and on public transport networks. METRO has only been available with 300.000 issues in New York for a short time.

Also in April, ARBOmedia Istanbul concluded an exclusive advertisings sales and marketing contract for the in-flight magazine of the private Turkish airline carrier FLY AIR. FLY AIR founded in 2002 is the fastest growing private airline company in Turkey. It has currently 8 Airbus A300 und 3 Boeing 737 planes in its fleet. The airliner expects to exceed 1 million passengers in the year 2004. With the marketing of this representative magazine, ARBOmedia reaches the exclusive target group of business travellers and thus the decision makers of the national and international industry.
