11/18/2003 - ARBOmedia Closes Multinational Advertising Sales Contract With MTV Networks

The pan-European advertising sales house ARBOmedia will manage the advertising sales of the music channel MTV European. The contract applies exclusively for the Czech and Slovak Republic.

ARBOmedia will take over the advertising sales in both countries, starting on January 1st 2004. The sales house thereby profits from the long lasting experience of its local subsidiaries. The Czech subsidiary, existing in Prague since 1990, has from its beginning on successfully done the marketing of the public TV station Czech Television and thematic channels. Also the 12-year old subsidiary located in Bratislava has a profound and long-term experience with the marketing of thematic channels such as Fox Kids. The main focus of marketing MTV European will be cross media sponsorship packages, local events and other marketing cooperations. The brand MTV thereby produces an ideal connection between the viewers and the advertised brand content.

MTV European addresses its manifold entertainment programme to young people of 15 to 34 years old and is broadcasted in English 24/7.

ARBOmedia European Marketing Director Alexandra Hintze states: "With marketing MTV in Czech Republic and Slovakia we will strengthen our position as the largest independent advertising sales house in Central and South-Eastern Europe. We are pleased to market one of the most important entertainment brands in these EU acceding countries."

The MTV brand and content offers unique opportunities to connect with youth in Czech and Slovak Republic, which we are confident ARBOmedia will effectively bring to the local media industry."

Yet, MTV Networks and ARBOmedia are in negotiation for the advertising sales of other European countries.
